Explore our 200-year-old Farm
Tour our wild low bush blueberry fields. Learn about farming and the Maine Wild Blueberry. Meet the people working behind the scenes.
Wild Blueberries were planted by Mother Nature on the barren fields of Downeast Maine. As farmers, we harvest this wild growing, sustainable fruit. There are over a million varieties of wild blueberries, each with their own taste, color, and size. A low bush blueberry field can have thousands of different varieties growing together. This is what gives the Maine Wild Blueberry it’s unique taste.
Spring is the time to see these different varieties at their best when the plant is blooming and the blossoms are a carpet of pink, white, and green.
Or visit the farm in August when it is bustling with people out in the fields hand raking and the mechanical harvester is clanking in the background. Taste these amazing healthy berries for yourself, try your hand at raking, or help pick over berries that will be delivered to nearby restaurants.
Schedule a private tour during the spring or summer or attend a scheduled tour happening during Open Farm Day, Wild Blueberry Weekend, or the Machias Blueberry Festival.
